The Director of Inspire, Stephen McMahon, is a Registered Town Planner who offers over twenty five years of experience gained from a variety of work environments including the London Docklands Development Corporation, the City of Wanneroo in WA, the NSW Olympic Coordination Authority and private practice in a number of consulting firms.
Today, he is the General Manager of Macarthur Developments, a land development company with a large portfolio of residential and commercial construction projects in South West Sydney.
Stephen has a Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Regional Studies and obtained his Master of Arts in Urban Studies, following the awarding of a Curtin University scholarship in 1993 to study overseas at Oxford Polytechnic (now Oxford Brookes University) UK. Since 2006 he has been a part time lecturer in the Faculty of the Built Environment at the University of NSW, variously teaching urban design or development feasibility. Stephen is Vice President of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (NSW) and chairs a number of its member committees. He is also a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia (NSW Division) and a member of its Executive Committee.
