Stephen has recently returned to providing development advisory services following nine years as The General Manager of Development for two land development companies in Western Sydney where he undertook a range of large landmark development projects in Western Sydney and regional NSW. This included the management of the successful rezoning and development of the Emerald Hills Estate and Lowes Creek Maryland Precincts rezoning in Western Sydney. Earlier experience includes local government, the London Docklands Development Corporation and NSW Olympic Coordination Authority. Stephen also teaches development feasibility part-time at the UNSW and in both the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) and Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) further education programmes.

With this experience Stephen offers more than just town planning advice. His expertise blends the demands of commercial and construction requirements with planning and urban design. Clients can be confident that they are receiving thorough and practical guidance with commercial acumen at all stages of their projects.

Stephen is an active contributor to, and advocate for, the realisation of good development via effective town planning. He has been a member of the NSW Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) for over 20 years and in 2010 he was elected Councillor and has been a member of Council Executive, Treasurer and Vice President. Between 2020 – 2022 Stephen was President of the Institute. He is also a Registered Planner and Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia.

More broadly, also Stephen sits on Sydney Water’s Customer and Community Reference Group, Jemena Gas Networks Customer Council and the NSW Department of Planning’s Better Places Advisory Group.
